Kingston Beach Dental is a family-owned business providing excellent customer service and quality dentistry in Hobart. Patient care is a top priority for us however, we are not a large corporate dental practice that can absorb the cost of broken appointments.

A missed appointment or late cancellation places a financial strain on our business as we have the surgery reserved and staff allocated specifically for your appointment. It is also unfair to other patients who may be waiting for appointments for emergency care or urgent treatment as they have also missed out on that appointment time. Plus, your health is impacted if you do not complete diagnosed treatment or prioritise your preventative dental care.

The last few years have presented incredible challenges for everyone regarding balancing individual health and the health of the community. There have been times where we have had to reschedule appointments due to practitioner illness and we have appreciated patients giving us as much notice as possible regarding Covid risk and needing to reschedule as well. Of course, we understand that at times, there will be legitimate emergency reasons for cancelling an appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice and we will always give these circumstances individual consideration.

HOW TO CANCEL

You will received a courtesy reminder by email or SMS a week before your appointment. If you do need to change or cancel your appointment, please call our helpful Front of House team on 62296775. Alternatively leave a voice message or send an email to reception@kingstonbeachdental.com.au if outside our regular business hours.

Kingston Beach Dental reserves the right to charge an $85 cancellation fee for all appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or when appointments are missed. Full details regarding our Cancellation and Attendance Policy can be viewed here (PDF)

We are a locally-owned, family-run practice. The staff who work in our practice live locally and are responsible for the decisions about your care. We are concerned with providing quality dental care and we do not cut corners.

We believe that it is important to be independent from corporate healthcare and insurance companies which is why we are not a preferred provider practice. We are not financially contracted to any health funds or concerned with shareholder profit and billing quotas that health funds will set in preferred provider schemes. We see patients from all health funds and can claim your rebate on-the-spot through our HICAPs terminal. 

Your treatment options will be discussed with you and decided with you, to help you achieve and maintain the level of oral health you desire and that is best for you.

Every care is taken to make your visit a comfortable and gentle experience. We try to make our procedures as pain-free as possible with a range of options.  

We care about our patients and will contact you the day after any major or surgical to treatment to check that you are comfortable and that the problem has been resolved.

In 2014 we were the first QIP Accredited dental practice in the Kingborough region.  This is recognition of our commitment to safety and excellence in all aspects of dental care and infection control. We adhere to the Australian Dental Association’s Guidelines on Infection Control and meet the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards for healthcare.

We undertake regular safety and compliance audits and staff training.

Our state of the art practice is equipped with the latest technology and high quality equipment and materials including an CBCT/OPG x-ray machine; digital x-rays; digital scanners, intra-oral cameras, 3D printers and soft-tissue laser. These tools help you to understand your dental concerns and needs and to work with us to make a plan for your dental care.

We work in association with excellent specialists in Hobart to refer complex treatment that is beyond the scope of general dental practice, or for very anxious patients. 

We also support a reputable local dental laboratory that uses TGA approved materials. We do not cut corners and we do not send laboratory work to cheap, overseas dental labs.
