Our team at Kingston Beach Dental:
Dr Martyn Sweet
Practice Owner and Principal Dentist B.D.S. (Adel)
2019 marks 20 years since Dr Martyn Sweet (Practice Principal) graduated as a fresh-faced dentist from the University of Adelaide. With his wife Felicity, he purchased Kingston Beach Dental in 2007 when it was located on the Esplanade at Kingston Beach. He is proud of the reputation that Kingston Beach Dental has in the community and loves the positive, vibrant workplace culture in the practice. He is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and loves working in our premises at Channel Court, where we moved in 2018. Dr Sweet was recently described as an “artistic wizard” after completing some complex cosmetic work for a very happy patient. Dr Sweet is also known for being a mad-keen mountain biker with a passion for travel and outdoor pursuits with his wife and two teenagers. A little known fact about Dr Sweet is that he is a hacky sack whiz and he is able to fix and repair almost anything with some time spent tinkering in his shed.
Dr Ram Pandey
Dentist B.D.Sc (Hons) Qld
Dr Ram Pandey moved from Canberra and joined the Kingston Beach Dental team as a dentist in September 2017. He loves the fantastic staff, the premises and the patients. Dr Pandey has established a solid reputation as a gentle, capable and kind dentist who was recently described as “Dr Ray of Sunshine”. He is also a well-loved and valued team member. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his cat, Atticus and partner Ana (who is also a dentist). They are enjoying settling into their semi-rural property, dabbling in home renovations and garden maintenance and exploring everything that Tassie has to offer. Ram’s hidden talent is learning to use binoculars to bird watch and experimenting with old-school film photography.
Dr Emma Grubb
Dentist BDS (Bristol)
Dr Emma Grubb is a vibrant and caring dentist who moved to Tasmania and joined the team permanently in July 2018. She loves the team she works with and the amazing new practice facilities. She enjoys some of the challenges of dentistry including calming anxious patients, the impact a good clean can have to improve someone’s smile, and is a registered Invisalign provider. Dr Grubb is small in size but has a big heart and has earned a reputation as a calming and competent clinician with a sweet and gentle nature and a sensational laugh. In her spare time she loves hiking and trail running and curling up with a good book or a glass of wine. Her hidden talent is that she speaks fluent French and completed her High School education in France. Emma and her husband have purchased a home in Tasmania and have settled in and are enjoying all that Tasmania has to offer.
ORAL HEALTH THERAPISTS
Hannah is a dual-trained Dental Therapist and Hygienist who studied at the University of Adelaide. She “cut her teeth” and grew up in her family’s own dental practice in Hobart.
We were fortunate that Hannah joined our team in 2014 and her professional reputation has been well and truly established in the community. She has been providing routine dental treatment for children under 18 years of age and specialised oral care, cleaning and oral hygiene education for adults. Hannah is renowned for her gentle, consistent approach with the children she treats and is passionate about oral health education and preventative maintenance for adults and children. Hannah has an exceptional sense of humour and it is common to hear her patients giggling in the surgery with her. In her spare time, she can be found walking with her partner and their dogs Gracie the Labradoodle and Lucy the Border Collie. Hannah’s hidden talent is that she is a whizz in the kitchen who enjoys making delicious, nutritious meals for her family and friends.
Steph joined the team in January 2018 as an Oral Health Therapist when we moved to our brand new premises at Channel Court. She loves working with the awesome team of practitioners and staff and has settled in well to her role in private practice as her previous experience has been in the government sector. Steph has a calm, consistent and caring manner with the children she sees and has also provided “amazing cleans” for adults. Steph loves going on bushwalks and exploring the great outdoors in Tasmania. Something you might not know about Steph is that she is a whizz with a skipping rope and is good at doing “double unders”.
Owner and Business Manager
Felicity has owned Kingston Beach Dental with her husband Martyn since 2007. She is passionate about providing an exceptional patient experience and ensuring that Kingston Beach Dental is a great place to work. She works closely with Practice Manager Chloe, and is responsible for Practice Accreditation and compliance; HR and staffing; marketing; team culture and values; social events; paying the bills and the many and varied behind-the-scenes task involved in running a family business. Every day is different and she loves that every day is different and rewarding. She loves the amazing, loyal and hard-working team and the skilled practitioners who provide outstanding dental care. In her spare time she loves to travel; write lists; spend time with her teenagers and spend quality family time doing fun things; and slow things down with yoga.
Felicity’s hidden talents are that she loves sewing but hasn’t been on her sewing machine for ages; she loves fancy dress parties and costumes; and was a high school Maths and Science teacher for 15 years.
Chloe is the capable and hard-working Practice Manager at Kingston Beach Dental.
She has an extensive track record working in dentistry, having grown up in a dental practice alongside her sister Hannah Colantoni (their father, Bernard, was a highly regarded dentist until his retirement).
Chloe joined the team in September 2017 and has been instrumental in working alongside Business Manager, Felicity Sweet, to ensure a seamless transition when we moved to Shop 98 Channel Court. Chloe is a fantastic problem solver, with a big heart and she cares deeply about the practice and has an incredible work ethic. Chloe says the “staff are the best and I love our loyal patients who make each day a wonderful, friendly adventure”.
In her spare time, she takes her miniature labradoodle, Joni, on drives and outings to the Salty Dog; is a dedicated frequenter of Bunnings and loves watching her iPad while making zoodles and whipping up a culinary storm. Something you might not know about Chloe’s secret past is that she has been front-page news modelling a diamond necklace prize for the Hobart International Tennis competition and riding a Vespa to work.
