Broken or Cracked Teeth

What is a crown?

How does a crown protect my tooth?

How do I prevent my teeth breaking?

Why don’t i just get the tooth removed?

Our Solution
Heavily-filled teeth or those containing amalgam fillings are subject to forces as the filling material expands and contracts over time.

A crown is like a crash helmet for your teeth which gives strength to the biting surface. Crowns are a great long-term solution.

You should never use your teeth to open objects including bottles. Regular preventative care appointments allow us to monitor heavily-filled teeth for signs of cracking.

If a tooth breaks below the gum line or through the root the tooth may need to be extracted.

If you have a tooth extracted you will need to consider an option for replacement. Otherwise, the teeth will collapse into the gap like books on a book shelf.

When Will My child loose their first tooth?

I’m an adult soWhy are my teeth loose in my gums?

can you fix them?

Our Solution

At around the age of 6, children start losing their baby teeth although their can be a lot of variation.

Between 6 and 12 your child will have a mixture of baby and adult teeth. Regular preventative care appointments encourage good hygiene habits and allow detection and discussion of any issues as your child develops and grows.

If you are an adult with teeth that are loose, this is an indication that you have periodontal disease. Poor oral hygiene causes inflammation and infection of the gums. In turn, this leads to the tissue and bone that supports the teeth being damaged and teeth getting loose.

Early detection and treatment by our Oral Health Therapists is the first step to prevent unavoidable tooth loss if your adult teeth are loose.

Loose teeth may be the result of a traumatic injury and you should contact us immediately so that we can help you.
